Our flag football teams are designed to be coed, allowing boys and girls to learn and enjoy the sport together. We aim to offer divisions for kids aged 4 to 14 (kindergarten through eighth grade), ensuring players compete with peers of similar age and ability.
DIVISIONS:
Teams are organized by the athlete's current grade (not age)
- K-2nd Grade Coed Division
- 3rd-4th Grade Coed Division
- 5th-6th Grade Coed Division
- 7th-8th Grade Coed Division
While this structure is our goal, divisions are subject to change based on registration counts. Final divisions and team assignments will be determined once registration closes and rosters are finalized.
D1 Flag proudly joins the national effort to promote safety in youth sports, particularly in flag football. Flag football serves as an excellent introduction to the game for children, retaining all the excitement and camaraderie of traditional football while eliminating the risks associated with tackling. This makes it a safer option for young players, allowing them to develop their athleticism, teamwork, and strategic thinking in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Unlike tackle football, flag football is a "no contact" game, focusing on skill and strategy where teams run or pass the ball downfield to score touchdowns. Defensive players aim to pull the flags off the ball carrier's belt instead of tackling, ensuring a safer playing experience. Once a flag is pulled, the player is considered "down", maintaining the competitive spirit while prioritizing player safety.
Introducing D1 Flag, the newest flag football league set to revolutionize the game! Here, the vibrant energy of college football collides with the welcoming atmosphere of youth flag football, sparking a love for the game among players of all ages. This fusion is our unique 'secret sauce', capturing the essence of college game day excitement on our fields. Get ready for an unforgettable journey filled with immersive experiences such as National Signing Day celebrations, tailgate parties, and top-tier coaching clinics.
And as we stake our claim in youth athletics, we proudly announce our inaugural location at the MOSH Performance Center in Franklin, WI.
