D1 Youth Athletics Internship Program
Gain real-world experience in youth sports with a hands-on internship focused on marketing, social media, and event operations. Open to students and recent grads, this program offers a dynamic blend of sports marketing, game day logistics, and community engagement across flag football, cheer, and future programs like golf and lacrosse. Build your skills, grow your network, and help shape the next generation of athletes.
key areas of focus
Marketing & Social Media
You will be part of our marketing team, responsible for shaping how we communicate with families and athletes. This includes:
- Social Media Calendar Management: Plan and maintain a robust content calendar for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Content Creation: Develop creative, relevant, and on-brand content (graphics, posts, videos) that engages our audience and promotes our flag football, cheer, and upcoming programs.
- Social Media Ads: Work on paid advertising campaigns to drive program registration and community awareness.
- Website Management: Assist in updating the website with new content such as program information, schedules, and upcoming events.
- Photography & Videography: Capture game day moments and events through photography and videography, or coordinate with professionals to gather content that will be used for marketing.
game day operations
Gain valuable experience in the logistics and event management aspects of youth sports. Duties include:
- Event Setup & Breakdown: Help coordinate game day operations, from setting up fields and equipment to organizing signage and promotional materials.
- Team & Coach Coordination: Assist in organizing team rosters, game schedules, and coach assignments, ensuring smooth game day operations.
- Game Day Support: Support event staff with player check-ins, team assignments, and other game day responsibilities, providing a positive and seamless experience for families and athletes.
Community Engagement & Events
At D1 Youth Athletics, we believe in fostering a strong community spirit, and you will help make this vision come to life by:
- National Signing Day & Tailgate Parties: Assist in planning and executing special events, such as National Signing Day, where players receive their team jerseys and “Letters of Intent,” and weekly tailgate parties that bring families together.
- Championship Playoffs: Contribute to the excitement of our playoff tournaments, helping organize event details, promoting the games, and ensuring a memorable experience for players and spectators alike.
Coaching Clinics & Player Development
While marketing is a primary focus, you will also have the chance to assist with:
- Coaching Clinics: Help organize and promote coaching clinics that provide our coaches with the skills to lead teams effectively, including working with guest coaches and professionals.
- Player Development: Gain insight into how we foster skill development among our young athletes by assisting with practice and event coordination that enhances the player experience.

program duration
Internships are available year-round, with flexible start dates to fit your academic schedule. A minimum commitment of 10 hours per week for one semester is required.
